Cricut Cardz Challenge #68

For the challenge this week.....we are to make a card using any house image and any colors, but we also have to incorporate a flourish and lace.

I chose to use the cartridge April Showers and I cut the house at 3 1/2". I used the Divine Swirls cuttlebug folder as my "flourish" and I do not have any lace so I added a polka dotted red ribbon. I also used the Seeing Spots cuttlebug folder on my background paper.

Now it is your turn to show us your creativity, so stop over at Cricut Cardz Challenge and see what lovely cards the rest of the design team has created.

Cricut Expression Dust Cover

The pattern that I used is posted on customcrops.com website and there are a few video tutorials as well!

I chose a damask pattern from Jo-Anns. I am going to be making one for my Imagine as well. They do not have a pattern for this machine yet, but I am going to do my best to figure it out on my own! For this dust cover I used the Heat & Bond I didn't actually sew it. I noticed a few spots were it didn't bond so well. But I will say that for me it was much easier doing it this way than actually sewing it together. I am not an avid sewer and it takes me forever just to figure out my machine, so I guess you could say that I cheated a bit :~)

Altered Bird House

I bought a wooden birdhouse from Michaels for $5.99, painted it and decorated it.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #66

For this challenge we need to make a Thank You card using the border feature from any cricut cartridge using the colors, blue, yellow and white.

For my card I used the border feature from Mickey & Friends. I cut the border from my Gypsy at 1.93 height by 5.26 width. I cut this out in white and again in yellow. I used the yellow for the bottom of the sailboats and cut off the top piece. I did some stitching on the white and also stitched on the blue background paper. The lighter blue paper is from the DCWV Guy Stack.

Don't forget to join in on the fun at Cricut Cardz Challenge.

Have a Shamrockin' Day

For this card creation I used my Gypsy to weld the "Asian" label from the Lacy Labels Cricut Lite Cartridge. The card base is sized at 3.53w by 5.00h, the black layer is sized at 3.35w by 4.75h, and the pattern cardstock that I purchased a Michaels from their stock (Green Argyle) is cut at 3.18w by 4.50h.

The shamrocks are cut from the Celebrate with Flourish and it's cut at 2.50 inches. I used the Seeing Spots and Swiss Dots cuttlebug folders.

The stamp that I used is from Emma at mycreativetime.com stamp set called "I Believe in Leprechauns". I used the same label and sized it smaller for my sentiment. The black layer is cut at 2.31w by .87h and the green layer is at 2.15w by .62h.

To finish off my card I used some twine from the twinery.com and added some faux stitching throughout!

Happy St Patrick's Day Card

I created this card in my Gypsy. I used the Lacy Labels to create by card base which is the All Girl label cut at 5.00 by 5.00. I then cut at layer for my card using the same label which is cut at 4.50. The layer is cut from Recollections Argyle Green paper that I purchased from Michael's stock paper.

For the images on my card I used the horseshoe from Create a Critter and welded a shamrock from the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. The horseshoe is cut at 3.75 inches and the shamrock is cut at 1.63.

I finished the card off by wrapping twine around the layer of the card and faux stitching on the card, horseshoe, and shamrock!

Love Birds Card

Once again I used my Copic markers and some chalk for this card. The "love birds" image is a free digital stamp that I printed from my computer. I did some stitching around the border of the card and the image and finished the card off with a ribbon.

Thank You Card

Here is my first Magnolia Stamped image card. I ordered a few of these stamps probably 6 months ago and have finally decided to something with them. I used my copic markers to color her in and then chalked around her with brown chalk. The orange pattern paper is from Colorbok purchased at Walmart.

Cricut Cardz Challenge #64

In honor of Dr Seuss's Birthday and National Read Across America week we were challenged to make a bookmark in any color using any cartridge.

Since my daughter loves Mickey Mouse I decided to make this challenge for her. I used the Mickey and Friends cartridge and created this in my Gypsy. I used the bookmark on page 115 and cut it at 7.94 width by 3.24 height. I welded the Mickey from page 108 and he is sized at 2.83 width by 3.47 height. When I cut the layers for Mickey they are cut at 3.47 height. I used the EK Success 12x12 Mickey paper pad. Once I had everything cut out and adhered together I used my Your Story and laminated it.
